The 144th Rathyatra of Lord Jagannath has started today in Ahmedabad city after a gap of two years between Corona. The traditional ritual started with Mangala Aarti from 4 am. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani inaugurated the rathyatra in the temple premises with a traditional broom ceremony with a gold broom. Divyabhaskar's two journalists are constantly giving live updates along with the chariot. At present all the three chariots have reached Dariapur. The Pony Rathyatra is over in just two hours. Tight curfew is being observed in Kot area. People have walked from Relief Road to Kalupur railway station. Police checkpoints have been set up at a distance of 500 meters.

The state government has imposed curfew on the route of the rath yatra and allowed the rath yatra to take place. Last year the chariots of the Lord only returned to the temple premises. But due to the low number of corona cases this year, the rathyatra has been allowed to take place on the traditional route. Curfew has been imposed on all the routes from which the chariot will depart. In just five hours, the Lord's chariot will return to its temple after completing the 22 km route and the rathyatra will be completed.

Vehicles coming from Naroda to Memco will be able to turn left from Memco crossroads towards Bapunagar-Rakhial-Amraiwadi.


Vehicles coming from Sony's Chali will be able to move from Rakhial Char Rasta to the right, from Memco to the left, to Gomtipur - Maninagar - Danilimda.

Vehicles coming from Narol will be able to go from Danilimda to Ambedkar Bridge and Ashram Road.
From Ashram Road to Subhash Bridge Circle, Inscription to Char Rasta, Shahibaug Dafnala, Airport can be moved. Danilimda-Gomtipur-Maninagar can be reached through Ambedkar Bridge.

The offerings of the Lord's Rathyatra will be distributed till Gurupurnima. Chief Minister Rupani Pahind will officiate at 7 am. Then at 7.30 pm Lord Jagdish will leave for Nagarcharya.





Curfew
Rathyatra will pass through Gaikwad Haveli, Khadia, Kalupur, Shaherkotda, Dariapur, Shahpur, Karanj, Madhavpura, Danilimda and Sabarmati Riverfront East M 10 police station areas till 2 pm on Monday . Therefore, a complete curfew has been imposed in all the areas under the jurisdiction of these police stations from 10 pm on Sunday to 2 pm on Monday.
